Privacy notice

This notice explains how Carlo Kruger, sole proprietor trading as CV Smithy, handles information when you visit the website or join the CV Smithy Early-Access Waitlist in South Africa.

What we collect and why

When you join, we collect your email address, your consent and its timestamp, and the information needed to administer confirmation, withdrawal, and duplicate prevention. We use it only to administer the Early-Access Waitlist and send confirmation and material early-access communications. We do not use it for unrelated marketing.

Our lawful basis

We process this information with your specific consent. You may withdraw it at any time using the link in a waitlist email or by contacting us.

Website analytics

We use Vercel Web Analytics to understand aggregate visits to public pages. It records page views and broad technical information such as the referrer, approximate location, browser, operating system, and device type. It does not use cookies, and CV Smithy does not send email addresses, form values, waitlist tokens, or custom events to it.

Who processes it

CV Smithy uses Vercel to host the website and Functions and provide aggregate Web Analytics, Neon to store the waitlist lifecycle, and Resend to deliver transactional waitlist emails. These providers may process information across borders under their applicable terms, data-processing commitments, and transfer mechanisms.

How long we keep it

We delete an unconfirmed signup after seven days. We delete a confirmed signup when you withdraw, when the waitlist closes, or within 90 days after early-access recruitment closes. After withdrawal, we keep only a keyed, non-readable email-derived suppression record, withdrawal timestamp, and reason to prevent further contact; this is deleted within the same post-closure period.

Your rights and contact
